  • Involved in a vigorous specification program determining a Government-wide UNIX/ Open Systems specification
  • Qualified and evaluated five major UNIX vendors (out of 9 participants)
  • Managed four of five large-scale, live systems integration field trial initiatives.

Technology Architect: External Affairs Canada: Design phase of External Affairs’ Secure Integrated Global Network for 8500 users worldwide

  • Created RFPs for server platforms and specification of operating systems
  • Provided standard workstation platform definition
  • Advised on systems integration issues and benchmarking approaches
  • Led a team defining and creating a large-scale local and wide area network interoperability test centre consisting of hardware and software from several different vendors, to support the SIGNET project, for on-going testing and qualification of vendor hardware and software and as a proving ground for new technology.
